What is Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)?

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is the key technology that transforms your knowledge database from a static collection into an intelligent, learning AI platform. While traditional AI systems often only rely on general knowledge, RAG searches your own data sources – and generates answers that are precisely tailored to your company.

Semantic search: Your documents, databases, and files are converted into high-dimensional vectors. These 'embeddings' capture not only keywords, but the meaning and context of your content. This allows the system to recognize which information is truly relevant – even if the question is phrased differently than the stored data.

Vector database: The embeddings are stored in a special database that finds similarities at lightning speed. Whether PDFs, Excel tables, or emails – the system searches all sources simultaneously and identifies the most suitable passages.

RAG server & AI engine: When you ask a question, your request is also converted into a vector. The server matches it with your knowledge base and delivers the most relevant information to our Mistral AI engine. This then generates a comprehensible, precise answer – not from the internet, but from your own knowledge.
